Serves youth, ages 10 – 16 years, who are accused of committing crimes in Williamson County.Programs include probation services, court services, crime prevention outreach and diversion services.Offers a First Offender diversion program in the Georgetown Office for low risk youth that gives a youth an opportunity to resolve an alleged offense without a referral to Juvenile Court or being placed in programming with higher risk youth. Youth must have parents or another suitable adult who can supervise and support the youth while attending the program. Not all youth offenses are eligible for the program.Offers the START Class which is a half day program where offenders or at-risk youth and their parent/guardian are provided an overview of the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center, the Texas Juvenile Justice System and the C.O.R.E. Williamson County residential program. Delinquent situations and possible consequences for each are also discussed. It is a onetime class that is held on a Saturday. Call to get dates. Program is also available to community families.Also offers the following classes: Teen Dating Violence and Sexting, Drug Education, Financial Literacy, and Victim Empathy. Offers a Prevention Unit that works with schools and in the community to try an intervene with families before they have an official referral to our department. This team supervises the First Offender Program.Parents may request a drug test for their child at any of the field probation offices for a nominal fee.
