Austin Police Department – Police Activities League (PAL)

Works to prevent and combat juvenile delinquency and promote the moral, civic and health standards of area youth.Comprised of Austin Police Officers who facilitate athletic opportunities for youth. Police Activities League (PAL) program offers Community Youth Development (CYD) soccer. Other PAL programs offered are boxing, basketball, and outdoor games for the community.Offers Star Cart, an interactive program offered to driving aged teenagers with a goal of underage drinking prevention and anti-DWI training. Students use Fatal Vision goggles, which are specially made to give the appearance of being impaired, while driving a golf cart through a course of cones. Students discover how difficult and dangerous it is the drive while impaired.
