Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) – Headquarters

Provides confidential, 24-hour telephone crisis intervention and counseling to youth, parents, siblings, and other family members who are in need of a caring voice and sympathetic ear. Trained staff and volunteers are on call to provide guidance on youth-related concerns, such as family conflicts, delinquency, truancy, abuse and neglect, and running away. After assessing the callers’ situations, hotline counselors help them consider options with referral information, explore the facts and listen to their feelings, and develop a sensible plan of action.
