Come join us for Mental Munchies a free lunch n’ learn hosted by Texas Tech Physicians of the Permian Basin- Department of Psychiatry. Mental Munchies is opened to anyone interested in learning more about mental health topics. The goal of Mental Munchies is to educate the community about mental health and provide some skills to learn how to cope with some common mental health issues many people face. All lectures are FREE of charge. Doors open at 11:30am.
Many unhealthy behaviors often begin during adolescence (10-19 years). The diseases that begin during this age group often have long term implications on health during adulthood. Substance use among adolescent’s ranges from experimentation to severe substance use. Unemployment, poor health, accidents, suicide, mental illness, and decreased life expectancy all have drug misuse as a major common contributing factor.
