Please join us for a rich discussion from Dr. Beverly Simmons connecting the latest science on nervous system regulation to our psychoanalytic roots and the NASW Code of Ethics.
Affective Neuroscience and Interpersonal Neurobiology are rapidly bringing greater understanding of how analytic practitioners can provide more effective interventions to regulate their clients nervous systems. However, content from these disciplines can be incredibly dense and difficult to comprehend. In this lecture, Dr. Beverly Simmons will translate complex research and theoretical constructs into practical and accessible language that can be used by all analytic practitioners. She will connect regulation of the nervous system to our psychoanalytic roots and NASW Code of Ethics, illustrate what nervous system regulation is and provide participants with easy to use tools that can be integrated into ethical psychoanalytic social work practice. Novice through senior analytic clinicians are welcome to attend! Two contact hours will be available for this event.
